James Bond Enthusiast Weekend preview, newspaper articleAn exceptionally good preview of the recent “James Bond Enthusiasts Weekend” was featured in the Entertainment section of the Intelligencer Journal / Lancaster New Era newspaper last Friday.

Staff writer Kathleen Daminger spent a good deal of time almost two weeks ago now, gathering background information from National Watch & Clock Museum Director Noel Poirier and me. The watch grouping picture provided by JamesBondWatches.com is the first ever published — anywhere — of all six known James Bond wristwatch brands. Breitling. Hamilton (Pulsar). (TAG) Heuer. Omega. Rolex. Seiko.

All but one of the watches shown here is from my personal collection. The one in the center, of course, is the most famous James Bond watch in the world: Ian Fleming’s personal Rolex reference 1016 Explorer. These wristwatches are currently on display as part of the “Bond Watches, James Bond Watches” exhibit, which runs at the Museum through April 30, 2011.

Mr. Poirier nicely summed up the overwhelming enthusiasm with which this special display has been received by the public, directly attributing increased Museum attendance to the 007 connection.
