Between September 8 and 17, 2014, Christie’s held a themed online charity auction tied to the 50th anniversary of the Goldfinger movie premier in 1964.
Among the listings was Lot 3, “A unique 18K yellow gold Omega Seamaster ‘Aqua Terra’ wristwatch,” valued at £8,000 to £12,000 (per published estimate prior to sale).
The movie Goldfinger was produced by EON Productions under the helm of Albert R Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, directed by Guy Hamilton, and starred Sean Connery as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007.
Ian Fleming visited the set while the film was being shot, but died unexpectedly the August just prior to its release.
