Around the time of GoldenEye movie release and after, Omega cross promotions were inconsistent at best in terms of identifying the specific Seamaster model worn by Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in that 007 feature.
The first image below, for example, is a tear sheet from the April 1996 issue of Golf Digest, page 65. The large photograph of Pierce Brosnan in-character, wearing a tuxedo, is identified as “James Bond in GoldenEye,” along with overwritten copyright information for Danjac and United Artists Corporation, 1995. To the right of it a graphic labeled “Omega Seamaster Professional. Self-winding chronometer in stainless steel, water resistant to 300 m/1000 ft.” This watch appears to have a black bezel, and the dial color is indeterminate.
In 1996, the fictional James Bond character had never worn a then-current mechanical Omega watch of any kind.
The GoldenEye Omega wristwatch is also referenced in a two-page spread as part of an Omega publication titled, Our Time with James Bond 007: Omega (second image). Again, the call-out image that appears in this section is the reference 2531.80 Seamaster — apparently modified with an illuminated blue light next to each hour marker; none of this is consistent with the film, GoldenEye.
