Happy New Year!

For those of you not following my James Bond Watch Photos site, Breitling for Bentley is its first post for 2012.

Author Jeffery Deaver specified the model A2536513 / C781 Breitling for Bentley Motors T Speed wristwatch for James Bond as part of the South Africa mission cover in Carte Blanche.

The context for this exclusive James Bond watch image is in keeping with the recycling plot line. Banker’s Box for compliance-related record-keeping, with destroy-date specified, along with paper shreds, provide the backdrop.

James Bond memorobilia collectors will be additionally interested in the provenance of this particular wristwatch.

The piece shown here is the exact same physical Breitling for Bentley chronograph that Jeffery Deaver himself wore on June 29, 2010, at his last US book tour stop to promote Carte Blanche. That connection was through special arrangement thanks to publisher Simon & Schuster, at McIntyre Books in North Carolina, in cooperation with Breitling retailer Lewis Jewelers, in Michigan.

Subsequently, this watch was displayed along side the original literary James Bond watch — Ian Fleming’s own Rolex 1016 Explorer, featured in his 1962 novel, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service — at the National Watch & Clock Museum, in Columbia, Pennsylvania.

Serial number 2363493 uniquely identifies the actual Carte Blanche James Bond Breitling watch.
